Original post at Quina mandra!

Last Saturday I had lunch with Juan Luis and Cris, good friends of mine and parents-to-be... someday. Something cool happened during the meal: at a table next to ours, an actress was seated along with some other people. I had seen her at the theater only two weeks earlier and, since I very much enjoyed her work, I decided to tell her and congratulate her for it. I am sure Juan was kind of shocked to see me address myself to her, shy as he is! :-)
But well, that's not the story today, actually.Very near the restaurant there's a shoe store, the one you can see above. It is in an old, beautiful building, like many others you can see all over Barcelona, specially in this neighborhood, the Born. Something is written on the store window. Actuallly, they are two small ads about the winter sales. The one on the right is written in... English? Well, it is supposed to be English but as we approached we found out that the guys from the store had given the word "until" a new sense: "Sales until 50%" is what the ad said. Obviously, what they mean was "up to". The problem is "until" and "up to" are the same word both in Catalan and Spanish! :-)
