In Spain, "democracy" is kind of a liquid concept for the right-wing Popular Party (PP) as it is for most of the socialists (PSOE), at least its leaders. On Thursday, February 17 the Catalan public television, TV3, has been banned in the Valencian counties, where it could be tuned since the mid eighties. In a "Mubarak-style", to compare it with recent events, the authorities have prohibited the people of València to choose what they want to see on their tv sets, and worse than that, they have gone one step ahead in their attempt to exterminate the Catalan culture. This is their goal.
They will keep trying, they will not succeed.
